This policy explains what personal data Rise Substrates collects through risesubstrates.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have over it. It is written to meet the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Rise Substrates is a manufacturer and exporter of coco peat and coir-based growing media, based in Tamil Nadu, India. We are the data controller for the information described in this policy.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

When you submit an enquiry, request a quote, or download a technical guide, we ask for:

• Your name
• Your work email address
• Your WhatsApp or telephone number (optional)
• The product and volume you are interested in
• Any message or requirement details you choose to write

If you tick the optional marketing consent box, we also record that you consented, the date and time, the exact wording you agreed to, and the page you were on. We keep this record so that we can demonstrate your consent was validly obtained.

Information collected automatically

If — and only if — you accept optional cookies, our analytics and advertising providers collect technical information such as your approximate location, device and browser type, the pages you visit, and how you arrived at the site. 5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We use the following service providers, who process data on our behalf:

• Google — Workspace (email), Google Sheets and Apps Script, where enquiry submissions are stored, and Google Analytics if you accept optional cookies
• Hostinger — website hosting
• Meta, LinkedIn, Reddit and Quora — advertising measurement, only if you accept optional cookies
• Our email delivery provider — used to send newsletters to subscribers who have opted in

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so.

6. International transfers

We are based in India. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, your data will be transferred outside your region when you contact us. India has not received an adequacy decision from the European Commission. Where we use service providers who transfer data internationally, those transfers are covered by the providers’ own Standard Contractual Clauses. By contacting us you understand that your enquiry will be handled by our team in India.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Have inaccurate data corrected
• Have your data deleted
• Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
• Receive your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it
• Complain to your national data protection authority

8. Unsubscribing

Every marketing email we send contains an unsubscribe link. You can also email us and ask to be removed. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop us replying to a business enquiry you have sent us.

9. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Access to enquiry records is limited to the people at Rise Substrates who need it to respond to you. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

This is a business-to-business website. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant and affects how we use data you have already given us, we will contact you.
